Extreme Cameroon: Volcanoes, Rainforest and Heights
Eight days of pure physical challenge in Cameroon: ascent of Mount Cameroon (13,435 ft), trekking through the primary rainforest of Korup and a driving tour of the Bamenda highlands.
Description
This extreme itinerary sets out from Buea to climb Mount Cameroon via the Guinness Trail, the most technical route. The 13,435-ft ascent crosses tropical forest, alpine meadows and lava fields all the way to the summit with views over the Gulf of Guinea. The descent links up with Korup National Park, one of the oldest forests in the world at 60 million years, where the hanging vine bridge over the Mana River is iconic. The final phase follows the Bamenda Ring Road among extinct volcanoes, crater lakes and Kom and Bafut villages. Eight days of pure adventure.
