1. Who we are and what we do

TransitNous is an informational portal on international movement: it publishes guides to tourist destinations, travel itineraries, and fact sheets on residency and nationality pathways based on official sources.

TransitNous is not a consultancy, a law firm, or a paperwork agency. It does not handle administrative applications, does not provide immigration or relocation services, and does not request or process personal application documentation (passports, certificates, or financial data).

2. What data we collect

The only personal data we process is what the user voluntarily provides through the forms on the site:

  • Comment form (destination, residency, and nationality fact sheets): name (optional), email address (required), comment type, and message content.
  • Collaboration form (“What is TransitNous” page): name and professional email address (required); organization, professional website, and country or region of operation (optional); collaboration type, and message content.
  • Email newsletters (destination, itinerary, residency, and nationality pages): email address only (required). There are two newsletters — tourism and migration updates — both written in English and with email confirmation (double opt-in) before the subscription becomes effective.

Additionally, as with any website, the hosting server logs technical access data (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and aggregate statistics purposes.

3. Purpose of processing

The data provided is used exclusively for:

  • Comments: to be able to reply to your submission about incorrect or outdated data, or a suggestion for improvement.
  • Collaborations: to assess and respond to the professional collaboration proposal received.
  • Newsletters: to send the chosen newsletter (tourism or migration) to the email address provided, only when new content on that topic is published.

We do not use this data for advertising or profiling purposes.

4. Legal basis and recipients

The legal basis for processing is the user's consent, granted by voluntarily submitting the corresponding form.

The comment and collaboration forms are transmitted through Web3Forms (https://web3forms.com), which acts as the data processor and forwards the message by email to TransitNous.

The newsletters are managed through Audienceful (https://audienceful.com), a data processor that stores the subscriber's email address and handles the confirmation (double opt-in), the mailings, and unsubscription. We do not share the data with third parties other than the providers mentioned.

5. Data retention

Comment and collaboration messages are kept only for as long as necessary to address the request and, where applicable, apply the correction or assess the proposal. Once that period has passed, they are deleted from the contact inbox.

Newsletter subscribers' email addresses are kept for as long as the subscription lasts; you may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email, after which your address is removed from the list.

6. Analytics measurement and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to measure aggregate use of the site: page views, visit duration, country of origin and device type. This data tells us which guides are useful so we can improve them.

Google Analytics 4 is configured without advertising identifiers, and IP addresses are anonymized at collection time. We use no advertising or profiling cookies, we do not sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes, and we make no automated decisions about users. You can block this measurement by restricting Google scripts or using a tracking-restricted browser; the site works normally without it.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR and equivalent regulations, you may:

  • Request access to, rectification of, or erasure of the data you have provided to us.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Object to or request restriction of processing.
To exercise your rights, please let us know via the comment form on any fact sheet. Requests will be handled within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Changes to this policy

If new services involving data processing are added in the future, this policy will be updated before they go live, stating the provider and the corresponding purpose.
