Belgrade Nights: The Capital That Never Sleeps
Four days in the Balkan capital that rivals Berlin: splavovi on the Danube, Savamala clubs, and rakija until dawn.
Description
Belgrade has earned the title of nightlife capital of Southeast Europe, and this four-day itinerary dives headfirst into its wildest scene. The splavovi, floating clubs on the Sava and Danube rivers, are the symbol of the city: huge anchored barges with music ranging from techno to Balkan pop. The Savamala neighborhood, transformed from an industrial zone into an arts district, is home to underground clubs in abandoned warehouses where the bass thumps until six in the morning. Skadarlija, the bohemian street, offers the perfect transition: dinner with Gypsy music before crossing the river to the splavovi. Kalemegdan crowns every sunrise with coffee and views of the confluence of the two great rivers. A journey where the night begins at eleven and doesn't end until the sun rises over the Danube.
Health & safety
- Drink water between drinks: rakija dehydrates quickly
- Watch out for rakija’s alcohol content: up to 60 proof
- Do not drive: Belgrade has cheap taxis and ride apps
