Mexico City by Night: Cantinas, Lucha Libre, and Clubs in Roma
Five days of the best nightlife in Latin America: century-old cantinas, Mexican lucha libre, underground clubs in Roma-Condesa, and taquerias at 4am.
Description
Mexico City is a vibrant monster that never sleeps. Its nightlife blends tradition and avant-garde, where a 1920s cantina shares the sidewalk with a speakeasy hidden behind a Coca-Cola fridge. The itinerary kicks off in the Historic Center with a route of classic cantinas (La Ópera, Salón Corona) where you sip tequila and listen to live mariachi. The second night is the most Mexican experience possible: lucha libre at Arena México, with masks, high-flying moves off the ropes, shouts, beer, and the energy of a devoted crowd. Roma and Condesa deliver the hipster night: hidden rooftop bars, reggaeton and electronic music clubs in converted Porfirian mansions, and legendary taquerias open until dawn. The Zona Rosa brings Latin America's most vibrant LGBTQ+ scene, with clubs like Kinky and Marrakech. And the grand finale is the folkloric ballet at Bellas Artes, the art deco gem, before saying goodbye to a city that has it all.
Health & safety
- Drink bottled water: tap water is not safe
