Plunge into the cradle of the African safari with this 10-day route through Kenya's most iconic landscapes. The journey begins in Nairobi, the vibrant capital, where you will have a first taste of wildlife in Nairobi National Park — the only national park inside a world capital — and visit the Giraffe Center to meet the endangered Rothschild's giraffes up close. From there, you head to Amboseli National Park, famous for its great elephant herds and the imposing views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, rising majestically in the background. It is one of the continent's finest places to photograph free-roaming elephants against the snowy backdrop of Kili. The main event comes in the Masai Mara, where you witness one of the most amazing natural spectacles on the planet: the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra (June to September), when more than a million animals cross the Mara River in search of fresh pasture. In addition, the reserve holds the Big Five and offers close encounters with the Maasai culture. After the intensity of the safari, Lake Nakuru welcomes you with its iconic flocks of pink flamingos that color the shores of the alkaline lake. Finally, the trip culminates at Diani Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Indian Ocean, with white sand and turquoise waters, perfect for resting and snorkeling or diving among coral reefs.
