Six days of extreme exploration across Iceland combining diving in Silfra, glacier hiking, ice climbing and routes through the volcanic highlands.
Description
This extreme itinerary takes the traveler to the most remote and dangerous places in Iceland. Day one includes snorkeling in the Silfra fissure where the tectonic plates drift apart, with water at 2-4 degrees and the risk of cold shock. Day two tours the Golden Circle with Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss, and tops off with an ice tunnel in Langjokull. Day three explores the south coast with its waterfalls and the dangerous beach of Reynisfjara with sneaker waves. Day four is glacier hiking in Solheimajokull with crampons and vertical ice climbing. Day five ventures into Landmannalaugar along F roads with river crossings. Day six explores Hekla volcano and Thorsmork. Every activity involves real risk.
