Tulip Fields and Windmills of Holland
A family route of seven days through the Netherlands discovering centuries-old windmills, tulip fields, canal cities and Flemish art, with travelers from 5 to 80.
Description
This itinerary travels the Netherlands from north to south at an unhurried pace that works for all ages. It starts in Amsterdam, where the colored houses reflect in the canals and children thrill to the houseboats. The trip continues to Zaanse Schans, where centuries-old windmills still work, producing paint and mustard. Keukenhof, during tulip season, is a garden the size of an entire village that leaves you breathless. Haarlem offers a more intimate break with its tourist-free old quarter. Delft, the city of blue porcelain, allows family pottery workshops. Utrecht, with its canals and cafés, closes the route before returning to Amsterdam. Every day includes time for the children to run, bicycles rented by the hour and restaurants with children's menus.
