Zanzibar: Paradise of Relaxation, Spices and Swahili Culture

Seven days of total disconnection on the spice island, where time is measured by the tides and the sunsets. Stone Town, white-sand beaches, sunset cruises by dhow and an immersion into the most authentic Swahili culture in the Indian Ocean.

7 days1 countryFrom June to October (dry season) and from December to February (heat ideal for the beach, warmer waters).

Description

Zanzibar is much more than an island: it is a state of mind, a place where the scent of clove mixes with the Indian Ocean sea breeze and where every sunset is a work of art that cannot be repeated. This seven-day itinerary is designed for those looking to unplug from the world and immerse themselves in a fascinating culture. The journey begins in Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Getting lost in its alleyways is a pleasure in itself: carved teak doors, latticed balconies and the echo of the call to prayer. The spice tour is a complete sensory experience: vanilla, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg; you will grasp why Zanzibar was the world capital of the spice trade. The northern beaches — Nungwi and Kendwa — are as close to paradise as it gets: fine white sand, warm turquoise waters all year round and exceptional marine life. Sunset cruises by dhow are a must-do tradition. Snorkeling at Mnemba plunges you into a world of untouched corals and, with luck, dolphins swimming alongside the boat. Jozani Forest, home of the endemic red colobus monkeys, offers a green pause. And the rooftop dinners like Emerson Spice, with a tasting of Swahili cuisine and taarab music, are experiences that touch the soul.
