Korea for Families: Seoul, Temples and Jeju Island
Six family days among palaces, theme parks, volcanoes and beaches in South Korea: dynamic Seoul, Asia's largest aquarium and the volcanic island of Jeju.
Description
South Korea is one of the most family-friendly destinations in East Asia, with flawless infrastructure, efficient transport and a society that adores children. This 6-day itinerary pairs vibrant Seoul with the subtropical island of Jeju. In Seoul you visit the Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung palaces, where children can rent hanboks and feel like princes for a day; the National Children's Museum; the Lotte World amusement park; and the Coex Aquarium, the largest in Asia. A one-hour flight takes you to Jeju, the UNESCO-listed volcanic island, where you explore lava caves, walk accessible craters with boardwalks, visit beaches of volcanic sand and oddball museums like the Teddy Bear Museum. Lodging in Hanok Stays and family resorts, plus Korean food — adaptable with non-spicy versions — make this trip an experience as educational as it is fun for all ages.
Health & safety
- Tap water is drinkable in Seoul but not in Jeju
- Bring repellent on Jeju for summer mosquitoes
- Korean food can be spicy: always ask
