Family Madagascar: Lemurs, Baobabs and One-of-a-Kind Nature
A fascinating journey through the planet's most singular island, where 90% of the wildlife exists nowhere else on Earth. From the lemurs of Andasibe to the Avenue of the Baobabs at sunset, a living museum of evolution that will amaze the whole family.
Description
Madagascar is a miniature continent that has spent 88 million years evolving in isolation. This family itinerary travels the mythical National Route 7, the island's tourist backbone, combining nature, culture and adventure. The trip begins in Antananarivo (Tana), with the Queen's Palace and panoramic views. Andasibe National Park is home to the indri, the largest lemur, whose song carries for miles like a land whale. Heading down the RN7, Antsirabe offers pousse-pousse (rickshaw) rides and artisan workshops. Ranomafana National Park provides a second encounter with lemurs and thermal pools. Isalo, with its Jurassic sandstone formations, has natural pools perfect for a family swim. The trip culminates in Morondava with sunset at the Avenue of the Baobabs, where these millennia-old trees over 800 years old are silhouetted against a sky ablaze with orange and purple. An image that will be etched in the family's memory forever.
